During November, the six professional psychosocial specialists conducted several psychosocial support sessions in the 11 local CBO’s, with the support of the local facilitators who have been arranging for all the logistics needed.
The psychosocial support sessions for the children were applied according to the international standards protocol for children, in which each child within the group will at the end of the project receive 18 psychosocial sessions for a period of nine weeks. Each week there will be two psychosocial session groups for children, having 25 children in each group, and it will be held twice per week.
The psychosocial specialists concentrated during the sessions:
- To improve the physiological status of the children.
- To help the children to recover from any psychological crisis.
- To spread the spirit of tolerance among children.
- To provide a safe environment for the children to play and to express themselves.
- To develop the children’s self-steam.
In November a total of 118 sessions were conducted at the different local CBO’s and the total number of children reached during November were 457 children.
The Numbers of repetitive participants in November during the sessions were: 2632 children (1453 males, 1179 females).
At the end of the year the total number of children to be psychologically supported will reach more than 2000 children.
On the other hand, women psychosocial sessions were also conducted according to the applied international standards protocol for women, each woman within the group will receive 9 psychosocial sessions for a period of nine weeks at the end of the intervention.
Each week, one psychosocial session group for women will be conducted, having 25 women in the group, and it will be held once a week.
The psychosocial specialists focused during the sessions on:
- Group Building and ice breaking activities.
- Activities to help the women to better express their feeling and emotions.
- Giving them new methods on how to solve problems.
- Relaxation techniques
In November a total of 55 sessions were conducted at the different local CBO’s.
The total number of women reached during November was 235, while the numbers of repetitive participants in November during the sessions were 600 women. At the end of the project the total number of women to be supported will reach around 1000 women.
