In June, the team of “Integrated Healthcare and Protection Services” project held  psycho-social support sessions for children and women. These sessions were held in 11 CBO’s across Gaza strip and were implemented by six psycho-social specialists, each specialist worked in two different CBOs.

The psychosocial support services provided were in three main categories:

  • Psychosocial support sessions for children.
  • Psychosocial support sessions for women/mothers.
  • Training for women in leadership and women’s rights.

Psycho-social support sessions for children:

Through the support sessions for children, Caritas Jerusalem will target 2000 children aged between 8-13 years old and from both genders.

In June, the psycho-social support sessions for children were resumed after a short vacation due to the children’s final exams. They have already targeted 1,594 children with sessions, with total of 1,317 sessions conducted across all intervention areas since the start of the project.

The summer vacation is a good chance for the psycho-social support team to increase the number of sessions and give more time to children in need of support.
